Here some pictures of the "Oude voertuigendag" (old vehicle day) in Boekelo, The Netherlands. You see some Fiats 500 and 600, a Borgward Isabella Coupe (1959), a Trabant (1963) with his owner in style and a NSU Prinz (1967).

And of course one Packard. In The Netherlands you have to deal with rain. When the rain began to fall, I went to the car to close the top. A guy thought he was very funny by saying to his friends that it would close electrical within ten seconds. I told him that it wouldn't take that long and pushed the button...

Some very nice and some very interesting cars. It's hard to comprehend the size of some of them compared to the American cars I am used to. Hard to see a family fitting in some of them--yet I know in lots of cases, that was the only car. Your Packard still gets my vote though.

I've been wanting one of those Karmann Ghia coupes for a long time, I think it would make a perfect home for a Packard straight eight, albeit stretched a little...

TW, Thanks for the pictures of the show. You must have fun trying to drive your Packard through the medieval narrow streets of some of the older sections of many Dutch cities. I recall a few years ago going to an antique car show at the palace of Rosendael in Arnhem and it poured rain the entire day! I love the 1950 Citroen. tot ziens!

Thanks for your kind words! Indeed, Packard's weren't made for little towns like Boekelo. You have to work hard not to hit anything or anyone. On the pics:

Ford Ranch Wagon (1958)
MG TD (1953)
Ford Anglia (1960)
