I have been working on my 47 super custom clipper for more than 20 years and I am finally starting on the trunk. Does anyone have good pics or information on materials, fabric colors etc?

Here are several photo of the trunk of my '47 Clipper Custom. The carpet material looks to be a wool type on a rubberized backing. I hope they help you with your project. Please let me know if you need more on this.

Wow thanks. It's been a long time since I pulled the carpet out of the interior but it looks exactly like what you have in the trunk. I assume it was always removable?

Was this an option or standard equipment? Was there a rubber product used instead of the carpet? I really like the trim, again just like on the interior carpet. Thank YOU very much!

You are welcome, and I am pleased to help. I believe the carpeted trunk was standard for the Customs, but the Supers could also have it. The Deluxes and Sixes probably came with a rubber mat and no trim on the sides. The trunk carpet is similar to the interior "Mosstread" carpet, which is a Wilton wool with a foam rubber backing, but of a lesser quality and construction.

The fabric came in today. I was able to get the binding as well. Do you think the original binding was leather? In any case I bought vinyl. I am also going to use velcro to hold the material in place. If it gets damp as things do in Seattle, I can remove and dry. Thanks again for the pics. I use them a lot.
