I was looking at 34 super eight car to buy but the block is broke. I need to know how to tell the difference between super 8 and standard 8. also where are serial numbers and what should they say. Also how hard would it be to find another useable engine thanks for any help

I think the Super Eight block is about 6 inches longer. As for numbers, someone else will have to chime in for that. I don't think replacement Suepr Eight engines are all that easy to find, and certainly aren't inexpensive.

I will need to measure head gaskets tomorrow. 34 Super 8 engine blocks are very very rare. One year only, low production year.
