Question about the Radiator Cap

So I went to the local parts store and got a a new radiator cap that is a 7 lbs T-7. When I shut off the car the water comes out the over flow. Is my cap not right for the car?The old cap did the same thing. Don't remember what size it was, it is now at the landfill. I had taken the radiator to a shop and they pressure tested it and there were no holes.
On a side note the hose problem that I had earlier has been taken care of.

Has to be a cap for a long neck. Napa 703-1411. Also, don't fill any higher than an inch or so below the neck or as the water expands it will force its way out regardless of the cap.
