This is what I meant about Packard folks

Right after the Salado meet, I posted this:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone that I came in contact with at my first Packard Meet. I found that, in all the car shows/ events or runs, I can honestly say that, I've never seen such hospitality, kindness and a willingness to share stories, information and what owning a Packard is all about. A Big thanks to Dave (Flackmaster) and Big Kev, you are what makes these events so enjoyable. To Bill Shipp, willing to share his pride and joy with me. To those whose names escape me but conversing with you has not. I am proud to walk amongst you and can only hope to gain the knowledge that all you have shared and what it means to be part of a very select community.

Thank you,
HotRod

Here is what why I am continuing this here:

While at the Salado meet, an elderly gentleman walked up to me while I was standing next to my 51 Patrician 400. He told me that he had a "few" Packard's himself. We introduced ourselves and he asked me if I needed an interior for the 400. I replied that I had gotten a quote for my interior but asked him what he had. He proceeded to tell me that the interior was newly done and not been put in any car yet. He descibed the interior to me and then I called my wife to tell her. I took down all his information and let him knoew that I would call him mid week after the Salado meet. This past Saturday, my wife and I drove down to Somerset,Texas to look at the interior and buy it if it was what he said it was. Well....it was more than expected. I was totally taken aback by the quality, the color and style. I immediatly told him that we would buy it right there on the spot. We loaded up the interior and then he invited my wife and I into his home for a cold soda. He introduced his wife to us, who was temporarily wheel chair bound due to a leg condition, but she was a sweetheart. He showed us his beloved Packard's, all 4 of them and we talked Packard's for a bit.

So for those who know him and for those who may get to meet him and his wife, Jerry Wright is a remarkable man. He is a Viet Nam veteran who is very proud of his service, which I thanked him for and he, in return, thanked me for mine being that I am retired Navy. We got ready to leave and we gave each other a big hug. To a truely genuine gentleman, Thank you Jerry

Those seats look really great in the pix. Nice score.

The "problem" with fixing up one part of your Packard (or any old car for that matter), is that then you feel bound to fix up the rest which no longer measures up. LOL!

LOL....I know what you mean. My wife, the sweetheart she is, is now asking me when I'm going to paint it, what colors, what color scheme.............I told her that I was leaving it as it is and she quickly replied "No your not"...

We'll see......LOL

The "fix the rest up" problem is probably X10 when you have a wife. ROTFLMAO!
