Valve guide dimensions? Bronze valve guides?

Greetings, post-war Packards,

In a lot of Packard V8 parts, I got two boxes of different shaped bronze valve guides. Since the V8 does not have removable valve guides, I was wondering if you I6-I8 experts have ever used bronze valve guides and what might the dimensions be?

Hi Jack: I've never seen bronze guides in any Packard engine as manufactured though they may have been used on the very very early cars. But a local engine rebuilder here of considerable repute uses them routinely in engines that have cast-in intergral guides, including Packard V8s and others. He much prefers that to reaming the guides oversized and getting valves with OS stems.
