Owen, a great addition for "The Toy Box". Hope Ralph gives it a new home and just down the street so you can visit it on the weekends.

Steve, I have owned several 55/56 senior Packards and as fate would have it I'm working in West Lafayette. Give me a call and I'll take a look and offer some suggestions. Two-eight-one, seven nine three, three three seven seven.

An older post. The metal tags on the carbs should provide the confirmation you'll want.

VIN 5682-4034 A late car.
My '56 is 5682-3494 and was assembled the last week of January. I have a copy of the Manufacturers Statement of Origin. If the firewall number you suggest does not fit in the sequence of your database; how about :
D38694
Good luck

The recent heavy rains and flooding in Houston resulted in many cars damaged or lost. Our lesson learned was that the areas that had historically avoided high water were hit hard and cars were lost as the water found new places to accumulate. So, don't take a chance, drive more miles inland and find a true high spot. With heavy evacuation traffic, stop lights, stop signs, and "evacuation" routes are your enemy. Get out your maps or internet maps and some country roads. Others will be doing the same thing, but it will be less painful. Take plenty of fuel. The wave of traffic that precedes you will consume all the fuel and despite best intentions, the fuel companies will not have enough trucks to refuel as many stations as need fuel. Take care of yourself and your family. Here's hoping for a non-event. All the best.

I'm working in Indiana and a co-worker will soon have a few cars to store outside this winter. Those Indiana corn fields are full of deer and mice. He's concerned about the mice. He has completed a search that has yielded results that include, store inside, use dryer sheets, use moth balls, use an ultrasound source. etc.

Anyone experienced an option that works?

Thanks

Great article. Thanks for making the time to share this information and for leading the effort to find the missing Pan American's.
