Yeah, that was actually the first thing I thought of, so I went through it to rule that out. Also, this was decidedly more of a metal ticking/contact noise.

Just one more remote possibility... if the oil filler tube was not installed in the correct orientation, the splash guard on the end can come into contact with the crankshaft creating a 'clicking' noise. But, most likely a collapsed lifter.

Years ago after a rebuild, my 1965 Cadillac Fleetwood had a tick which turned out to be the dipstick touching the crank as I had failed to bend the new tube away when installing it! JD’s idea with the filler tube is very similar.
