You might want to specify your model; it makes a difference with the length of the front fender trim. Super and Super Deluxe are 7 inches longer than the Standard Eight and Deluxe Eight.

The wage for a pipefitter at GM in 1939 was $44.00 assuming a 40 hour week. So, it would appear that this would be a weekly paycheck and in line with other auto manufacturers of the time.

The only factory trunk floor covering that I'm absolutely certain about is for the 1949 23rd Series Custom. It's a thin die-cut rubber mat with hogshair-like fibers affixed to the surface. The fibers were a multi-shaded brown.

A carburetor from a '47 356 should be a 531S. No idea if it would work well on a 327.

The 'Flying Wing' was standard on the Eight and Deluxe eight so wasn't really an optional accessory. I'm guessing that's why it wasn't listed. The Egyptian was available starting with the 1948 22nd series.

I checked and unfortunately I didn't keep a record of the part number. NAPA still sells snap in rubber stem valves and I don't think you will have a problem finding what you need. Since the 22nd/23rd Series don't have the style of hubcaps that can interfere with the stem, I have had no problems with the rubber stem.

I had the same problem with my '50 Custom when I had Diamond Back tubeless radials installed. I bought 4 stems at NAPA that extend two inches from the rim including the cap. I paid $3.11 in 2009 for a set of four.
