Good Morning all...Miss Prudence and I and Miss Patricia went across town to Cafe Paris for breakfast. We had scrambled eggs wtih smoked salmon, cream cheese and dill...along with a crossiant and coffee for me and English Breakfast Tea for Miss Patricia...nice run of ten miles or so and then back home. Miss Prudence ran like a Packard should...We might play in the back seat later in the evening!

Good Evening...Miss Prudence, our 1949 Deluxe, has the gas tank whistle and it brings out all sorts of comments at the Chevron Station around the corner. Pretty much from 'How Cool 'to 'What a Pain in The Ass that damn thing is'. Sometimes it makes Miss Prudence feel bad! Ernie in Arizona

Just as an illustration...Our 49 288 Miss Prudence will start immediately if driven earlier today or yesterday. If she sits for a week, it will take four, four second cranks for her to move fuel to the carburetor and then whe will start. Ernie in Arizona

It can't hurt to replace them all. The question is...why did they snap. Did you put too much torque on them, or did they snap for some other reason? David Packard has laid out the correct torque and it should not be exceeded. Ernie in Arizona

Agree…Journalism bares little relationship with what it was a generation or so ago. Ernie in Arizona

Just a humble suggestion...If you are holding the throttle so that the old girl will idle, you might just adjust the idle screw in the linkage to increase the idle RPM...after you drive it a bit, then you should be able to slow it down a bit...Ernie in Arizona
