Chris.

Yes contact Ross

He will most likely see this and respond.

All I can say. Is . The converter is draining. Or pump is questionable.

When I had a needle bearing in place of bushing for torque converter.
..
Oil would leak out front seal. And when I started the car up. Depending how long it sat. Would take awhile for oil pressure to build up. Before it would shift.

Just what is ca law on mirrors

For 55.56

My dads didn't come with them.

So it was not a requirement.. back then.

Even that they passed a law .sometime in the 50s

My advice.

Don't waste a Packard sending unit with a melling pump.

Look on line for a 0.100 with the ohm range of Packard

Not sure where I got this unit on mine but it's been working.

It is a Ford unit

Well
Ross was on the right track.

Valve bodies aren't the problem.

The damn. Manual shaft. More precise..

The bolt for shift motor.

It was loose. Not sure how. But it's tight now.

Explains the weird shifts. And going out of low at a stop. The delay. And high to low rpm.

I was going to remove the valve bodies. But when I went to pull the bolt out of shift lever. It was tight.

Was always loose in R.

So pull the rear bracket off. To get to the bolt on shift motor.

So moving motor up and down. Seemed to be a gap. Shaft not moving.

So I pulled the cover off shift motor

Loosen the nut. Then turned the set screw
Motor moved up

And. When I moved motor. The shift lever moved. Where you can click the gear slots
