Hank,

I've wanted a '37 Coupe for over 40 years so I also feel your pain. And with a '38 Sedan, a '41 Coupe and a rapidly shrinking bank account I can't afford one now. The worst thing about this Coupe, a very nice car, it's now for sale! But a little more than you might want to pay, AU$43,000.00 = US$28,000.00 approx.

Packard run and Christmas party

The New South Wales region of the Packard Automobile Club of Australia had their December Christmas run today, Sunday, to Vicary's Winery at Luddenham about 40 miles west of Sydney. Below are a few pic's from the day and a link to all the pic's I took.

EDIT - Dave (Owen_ Dyneto), only realised when I arrived home I could have garnered some more thief-proof number data. Next time.

Matt,
to Packardinfo. Besides the sign do you gave a Packard? If you do, could you please include it(the Packard) in the Owner's Registry together with a pic, any known history and how you acquired it?

Sitting in Forum member Russpackaus's '56 400 today with it's electric seat, electric windows, pushbutton and torsion level, to mention a few features really impressed me for a 50 year old car.

Guy's,

I probably won't be going back to Forum member 1930-726. If I find a query in the Chatroom, I copy it, post it in the appropriate Forum and send the Forum member a PM about my actions. From there I leave it up to the Forum member to take up the running. I'd say about 50% do, because about half the PM's I've sent remain as unread!

David,

Then again they might not recognise it either! Passed the picture around at the Christmas Lunch, before significant amounts of alcohol had been consumed so brains and eyesight were still sharp. There were also members of a couple of other clubs there, Ford Zephers(English Ford) and Twin Lakes Classic Club, so there was a broad range of knowledge from which to draw upon. And the result was? Nada!

Although a view was put forth they might be the pieces which attach to the springs for early Packards with lever shocks with straps between the lever and the springs. This from the owner of a '24 Sport Tourer. However the owner of a '22 Sport Tourer and a couple of '29 626's didn't think so.

Hank,

A question about your u-bolts. Is there only one per side? Reason I ask is that the pic of the left side shows a groove where one was on diagonally while the pic of the right side show a u-bolt in position that way. If it came like that, and that's how it should be then fine. But if it should have two per side and you've only put one on to move the diff around please enlighten me.

Things are looking good.

David,

I've printed out your pic and will pass it around today when PACA has their Chtristmas run to Vicary's Winery at Luddenham west of Sydney. You just never know, someone might recognise it.

Check your photo's, Mal, he drove one of them to the power plant museum (or whatever it was called. The one with the Stanley Steamer in it...) and you photographed it when you were at Les' in March.

David,

Of course you are right. I didn't mean to infer there aren't any '37 120 Coupes in Australia, just that there wasn't anybody of the name given by Don as being a Packard club member now. In fact there are a number of '37 120 Coupes listed in the Register of Members dated 2007. However, because of my short association with the Packard club, there could be another Packard club member who is also a Packardinfo member who may be able to specifically identify the Coupe mentioned. Sorry for any confusion.
