If the serial number needs to be verified on this 38 110, is there a stamping on the chassis or somewhere to do this?

Gee, now i read the 1938 info section and it is a decal.
"(1600) Serial number located on decal, which also indicated the body type number plus production number starting with a base number of 2000. Starting: body type number plus 2001. Engine numbers located on boss on upper left corner of cylinder block. Starting: B-1501, Ending: 99999." A picture would clarify this information. Anybody have that on file? does any vendor sell this decal?

The decal has been repro'd and is available thru the CCCA I believe. But if you don't have the original vehicle #, there is no way to recover it from the vehicle itself. Prior paperwork, titles, registrations etc. would be the best bet.
The VN for a 38 six 4-door sedan would have the following format: 1182-XXXX.

Thanks Owen, i will check CCCA . i did find my own info in my files. Sometimes i am a little slow in remembering. Training film pictures and text from Sept 1937 for the new sixteenth series.

Here's a picture of general number locations (except the decal which you already have). They varied location a bit year to year but format stayed identifiable. What is the plumbing right next to the plate? The plate referenced in the other forum post (believe it a 6) doesn't appear in same place either. Did decals move model to model?
