Does anyone have documentation from Packard, or Motor Wheel decoding the rim numbers?

What are the differences between the Senior 55 and 56 rims?

JD,

Thank you!

The codes I have come across;

Wire wheels;

15L 6 721

Steel wheel;

15 6L 748. Almost a solid wheel

15 6L 679 has gaps, and a line can be seen where the hubcaps grabs

15 6L 685 has gaps, and a concave area where the hubcaps grabs

I know that in 54 Packard said they changed wheels, but the parts books list different part numbers for 55 and 56 Packards.

54 Clipper Deluxe and Special wheels are the same as 55 Clipper. 54 Clipper Super wheels are the same as 53 Clipper wheels.

I believe the '56 wheels didn't have the holes for the drum locator pin since they switched from lugs bolts to studs. And obviously the bolt pattern is different between Senior and Junior models.
