The Kimes-edited tome has a bit of a description of the function, hoped-for benefits, and issues with the Skinner and notes it was dropped from production in November 1926. BelleFlex currently produces the DeHydrex line. The operating principle is very similar, with a glass filter instead of asbestos, and basically a chamber for the oil to outgas.
