While the wood may look like oak, you will want to use ash or maple. Oak has tannic acid in it and as such is corrosive to steel. Also, make sure that the wood has a low water content (e.g. kiln dried).

Documenting and tear down of frame. Frame is loaded and ready to head to the sand blaster tomorrow. Will unload and remove front and rear axles and go to town.

Starting the Engine teardown tomorrow. The engine looks totally unmolested and no visible wear on the cylinders. Once down, will quick hone and mic to see where we wind up.

1928 hard top coupe going up on the lift by friday to begin tear down.

Query- What is easier to skin, a Cat or a 1928 Packard?

Removing all wood to get the skins blasted, very time consuming removing screw, tack, tack, tack, screw, tack, de-skin the seams, remove wood.

Having a blast.
