I have searched this site as well as another but I cant seem to a exploded view of the light switch. Anyone have any suggestions?

I assume you mean headlight switch? If so, it's a Clum #9170 switch, reasonably common type in the auto industry at that time. If you go to The Packard Club website, click in "Wiring" from the left-hand menu bar, and then select 1931 833 you'll find a diagram which includes the headlight switch wiring. I also have a better diagram and info from The Standard Auto Electrician's Manual but it's going to be very difficult to get a good scan as it's in a large bound book. If nothing or no one else comes to the rescue, let me know and I'll see what might be done to get a scan. But again this is the wiring of the switch, not the internal features - just what do you need?

Owen, I took your advice and found a diagram on the Packard club website. Its just blurry can really make it out. I need to rewire a lot of this as it is hacked up. I need a clear wiring schematic. I just touched the supply wire to the brake light switch and it melted of the inside the light switch.

Best I can do, book binding prevents me from getting the full page on the scanner bed, hope it's helpful to you. Perhaps I can take an actual photograph of the page, I'll try it later today.

Owen is it possible to get the right side of the drawing you posted here, the drawing i have doesn't have this detail.
Or can you tell me where to find this drawing?
Im trying to sort out my switch wires since i just installed a new wiring harness

As noted in your concurrent other thread on the same subject, that wiring diagram is from the "Standard Auto-Electrician's Manual", Edition T.

I'm not willing to risk breaking the binding of the book but the adjacent page for the 840/845 uses the same switch and wiring so I can scan the flip part of that for you.

O_D's book doesn't appear to list wire colors but diagram is much clearer. The AEA wiring page available at the PAC site appears to be essentially the same diagram with some wire colors. The color labels are fuzzy & hard to read but appears to be a combination of black, green, and red wires.

If it will help, here is what I think the labels read but no guarantees. Fender lights don't appear to be marked and the wire going to the courtesy light I cannot decipher at all. Perhaps with the colors and O_Ds better diagram, you can figure the switch out
