It was a great time even with the rain. Here are a few pictures for those who couldn't make it or anyone who missed these Packards. Enjoy. More shortly.

Thanks, Steve
One of those 1940 1808s is mine. For quite a while during the Saturday-morning rain, Marshall Katz and I were about the only Classics on the field. It was a neat juxtaposition between Marshall's fully equipped car and my stripped down version (although my car is only stripped down on the outside, as it is equipped with the Riviera upholstery, mouton carpeting, mouton lap robe, overdrive, deluxe radio and air conditioning). The wheels were also extra-cost equipment, but with the black tires they look pretty plain.

The story that goes with the 1905 is awesome.

Hi West

Your 1808 represents how one might have encountered it when it was new, with a quiet, reserved appearance. It's luxuries enjoyed without public display.

Here are a few more including a teaser: note what is parked next to the blue '40 Darrin Victoria, a full reveal to follow.

The '54 "Caribbean-ized" Convertible, if I recall correctly from the history posted in the windshield, was done early on by a Denver Packard dealer when the car had light body damage repaired. Enjoy. More shortly.

Steve

Thanks for taking the time to take and post the pictures! I'm assuming the Darrin sedan is Gene Tareshawty's? I did run into him somewhere in the flea market on Wednesday.

Not Gene Tareshawty's. He has the second version of the 1940 Darrin sedan, and his is dark green. The red one is the first version of the Darrin sedan, which looked (and was, basically) more like the convertible sedan. Now owned by Ralph.

The Blue Darrin is reported to be Darrin's personal car, also owned by Ralph. Interestingly, Darrin is well known to absolutely HATE hood ornaments on the Darrin, so if I was Ralph, I'd remove it.

On the other hand, Ralph just loves hood ornaments and other personalizing touches, so why not? BTW, you seem to be current with the Darrin sedans, where currently is the ex-Bill Hirsch example?
