Rought pieces cut out. These are cut oversize to give me lots of meat to wittle down to shape. This is being made from three layers glued together. Center and end end prices oriented to give strongest grain directon where needed. So 3 layers of 3 pieces each. So 9 pieces today. Each layer joint is offset.

Anyway here is the first glue up the center pieces of layer 1 and 2. Once that glue is cured, then I will glue center piece 3 to the stack. Then the end pieces get glued in. Once everything is cured, then the shaping will begin.

Mal, yes, I knew what happened but just trying at my own flavor of humor, or lack thereof, to make a point! The point is to be patient. Unless you get an actual error, no need to press the button over and over. Someone the other day made five identical posts which gets quite frustrating when trying to keep up with the latest throughout the site.

I don't know who keeps hopping up cars with GTA style mods while not even fixing the torsion suspension but they need to stop...

I think this type of occurence happens when the Site is in a "slow mode", ie when, after hitting the Submit Button it does not immediately post the request or reply. Instead of waiting for the system to update, as time passes, the Sunbmit Button is hit again and maybe again and again resulting in the duplicate posts.

Easy for the original poster to "fix" as they have a Delete Button which is alive for them on their posts for, I think, 5 days after their posts are made to be able to remove them.

Might be talking through my hat, after all when it comes to computer technology, I'm a Luddite!

EDIT - Had to wait a little while after I hit the "Submit Button" for this reply to be accepted by the system.

If I didn't already have 2 Packards and this not 1500 miles away I would buy it tbh

It could be one or more of several issues with the distributor. If the timing is jumping around at 600 RPM or so with a good timing light, It could indicate that the distributor cam needs cleaned and lubricated. Or there might be a problem with the springs in the mechanical advance unit. The ignition point spring tension might be low. A very loose distributor shaft bushing might cause it. If the engine has a vacuum leak or valve issues, the vacuum advance might cause the timing to float. A bad condenser might cause erratic coil firing. If you have a dual point distributor, there might be issues peculiar to dual point units. I have no experience with them to draw on. The distributor rotor might be loose on the shaft. Plug wires leaking or cross-firing could cause erratic firing.

Glad it worked out for you!

I've found a floor jack and a piece of plywood helps to tame a gas tank when working alone.

An imposter would use it because you then pay the PayPal fees rather than having it come out of their money. Also beware of sellers asking for Zelle or one of the other direct money transfer services all of which are major red flags!
