Saw an advertisement from Dodge or Ram trucks today proclaiming a new feature on their pickup trucks. A self leveling bed! Truely what is old is now new! :)

Hi Randy, you still look the same! Did the young lady become your wife?
Was the 1952 Mayfair the Packard that made you a Packard collector?
I fell in love with a 1941 120 a neighbor owned. It was two tone, sorta tan and brown combo. I'd run down to the street and watch him drive by.

Hi Bigkev,
Sorry, I didn't mean to offend.
I guess the Mayfair Convertible misnomer is very prevalent on the internet.
Guess the internet is similar to paper, it won't move when anything is written on it.

1952 Packard Mayfair

I just finished watching a movie on TCM. It was called "Sudden Fear" starring Joan Crawford, Gloria Graeme, and Jack Palance. It was made in 1952 and featured 1952 Packards. At the end of the film Jack is chasing Joan ( who he thinks is Gloria) trying to run her down with a 1952 Packard 250 Mayfair Convertible. Needless to say his driving was a bit careless, he overcorrects on a turn and smashes the right front fender into a building or wall. Well the headlamp pops out of the fender but is still lit! Did Packard use Autolite headlamps as OEM in 1952? I actually felt pain when he smashed that fender! But the worst is yet to come as he crashes the Packard while finally running over Gloria. Car is on its right side and steam from busted radiator is rising out of the wreckage. Oh well from 1000 Mayfairs Convertibles made in 1952, that leaves 999 left. I don't think I'll watch that movie again.

Did anyone come up with a clip of the Today Show coverage of the last day of Packard production? I m guessing it would've been aired on 7-28-58 ?
As 7-25-58 was a Friday I believe?
My brothers in law and I went out to my garage on 7-25 and drank a toast to my Packard and all Packard's 1899-1958.

Well, car sort of appeals to me as well, although would be better with a little off of the top. It would've had head room for hats, even a top hat for those formal evenings.
Car is mounted on a turntable in a wooden floor. Wonder which building that was in? Probably was burned down in 1967-68.

I had the same Jordan Playboy advert stuck on our refrigerator door for years until the fridge died. Wife wanted a stainless fridge, no more magnets on fridge door. And the 1941 GE refrigerator that belonged to my parents, is still chugging along, like my Packard.
Hope they don't find those guys at the bottom of a ravine come spring thaw.

Hope mustangduckk's adventure didn't become too crazy!😞
Anybody hear anything?
I once drove a 1963 Studebaker Wagonaire that had been sitting a number of years from Maine to NJ. Had to replace fuel pump and tires. Also flywheel was missing teeth so once started, I wouldn't dare shut engine off!

I found this combo key chain-coin holder-ice scrapper many years ago in my 1955 400. This was our local Packard dealer in the 1950's.
