I questioned the seller on e-bay a couple of weeks ago about the air. He said it doesn't have air. Notice the blower motor isnt present, no dash vents, no hole in the firewall for connections. Just a compressor mounted on the engine. Also stated that it has the wrong carbs and no batwing.

Why not just buy a new pump or have the old one rebuilt professionally. Or put in an electric pump.

you should have done what I did in the past. Buy the air from the guy that is installing it.

I have seen a lot worse. With minimum work, assuming the body and mechanics are good and they seem to be, this car could be very nice. A new grill, some other new chrome, repair or replace bumper ends, paint, it could be very nice.
Note the turn signals on the cowel.

55 Panama power steering

Anyone ever install power steering in a 55 Panama with conventional suspension? There must be an instruction sheet somewhere that covers this. I will be looking for a complete setup from somewhere. Maybe from Mike Dulinski if he has one. I have a pump already, but it is from a Bendix and I am planning on a Monroe system which means I must find a new orifice. Sounds sexy.

Maybe i'm wrong, but the material doesn't look shiney to me.
Looks like some sort of plush fabric. It does look vary comfortable.

Yes, I have two other 55s. A Caribbean I've had for 20 years and a Panama I've had for 40 years. The Panama is my favorite. No bells or whistles on it. Would like to put air on it and power steering.

I bought a 55 Constellation a year ago with plans to restore it. It needs a lot. I now feel, I am getting to old to tackle the project. I will give the car away to anyone willing to restore it. The only thing I ask is that Who ever takes it, returns the air conditioner pully and the bolt that holds it in place returns it to me. If any interest, please let me know and I will give my e-mail and phone number. The car is on the side of my house in Oakley, Ca. About 40 miles east of San Francisco.

I assume you are planning on converting from Ultramatic to overdrive. Unless you are planning on using a floor shifter, you will also need the steering column linkage. These parts are extremely hard to find.I did the same conversion several years ago and still am looking for a shift rod. I am using a threaded rod til I find a real piece. You best bet is to find a parts car.
