When I worked at Chrysler Canada in Windsor Ontario a lot of the workers streamed into the bars near the gates on their lunch breaks. Ditto at Ford.
The waiters would wait with trays of beer loaded for when the guys rolled in and swilled back as many as possible during the lunch break? I also had friends at Carling Brewery who were permitted to drink beer on breaks as well and there was nothing much wrong with the beer although I must admit the cars of the period left much to be desired for quality. I owned several Geman cars during the 70s and all were high quality and reliable so maybe a few beers isn't a bad thing. My favourite car of the 70's is still the BMW 2002.

I also recommend draining the rad and fill with pure antifreeze then run the car to mix it with what is in the block. That should get you by until spring. Not a big investment compared to a cracked block and radiator. The lightbulb solution is a god temporary one but not safe long term.

Thanks Guscha. This museum reminds me of the one I visited in the Irish Republic this past spring. It was located on a narrow rural road and consisted of a collection of unrestored but unusual makes and models such as an German Adler which was actually assembled in Ireland. I should have taken some photos.

Pat, The way the catalogue is set up it would be a pretty big job. If all Packard applications were in one location it would be a simple task but the way the catalogue is set up it would be a page by page , line by line examination. Maybe best if I scanned the 208 pages but whew that's a big job too. It is a long winter so maybe if I am bored I will just do it.
