I remember a 54 Packard Henny Limo in the Godfather II.And if I am not mistaken, the Don went to his final resting place in a 48 Custom Eight Hearse. There is also an old (70's) horror movie called the Hearse that featured a 1953 Packard Hearse throughout the picture.

1956 Packard Patrician in the Cher movie Mermaids. When the Winona Rider character leaves home in their 57 Chevy wagon, Bob Hoskins goes to retieve her and tows the wagon home with the Patrician.

My guess is they used a 53 or 54 Packard for the conversion to stick overdrive (stick was not an option on any 56 Packard models)so they took the gas pedal when the took the column and clutch assembly. I always wondered why Packard did not use this gas pedal in 56 as they did in all models up through 55.

I just dug up a December 1997 issue of SIA (special interest autos). They have a side by side comparison of a 1956 Patrician and a Chaika. It seems the Chaika was imported to the U.S. by by one Shimon Okshteyn. The article rehashes the old stories about Roosevelt and the senior Packard dies and intimates that this 58 Chaika was based on the 56 Packard. They indicate that the Kremlin imported two 56 Packards (Patrician and Caribbean)and two years later Russia has a car that looks like the 56 models. No solid evidence just speculation.

In the 22nd and 23rd series, the sedans had wood grain dashs but the convertibles were all body color. I have a friend with a 41 160 DE and his dash is body color.I have also see two other pre war 40 and 41s with body color dash.
I wonder which is really correct?

The Vent windows had a crank handle which would indicate that it is a rare DE model but I did not see any of the fancy wood trim that most DEs had.I would also like to know if that Daytona is the supercharged stick shift model that set a speed record at Daytona Beach.

20k isway too much considering you can get a 56 Four Hundred (also on Ebay) with $5,000+ original miles for 35K.

Did anyone notice that this "all original car" was missing probably the most important part of a 57 Packard? It had no supercharger.

If it is such a pristine low mileage car, why did it need a partial repaint? Also,if it sold for over $50,000.00 at Hershey a year or so ago, why is it being offered now at a much lower price now? Must be something about this car we don't know about.
