My father's 1965 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 also had lap seatbelts. I still have the "Body by Fisher" adorned locking mechanism. It was manufactured by Jim Robbins Co. in Royal Oaks, Michigan.

No, he has not posted here but he has been an avid Packard enthusiast for a long time and I was very impressed by his knowledge when we were at the Greenwich Concours. I am planning to tell him about this post if he has not seen it already.

Supporting our Packard friends in Ukraine

Last summer, we had a visit from a big Packard enthusiast who lives in Ukraine, George Khovansky. In addition to spending both days of the Greenwich Concours admiring those classics, George and I visited Byron York's restoration facility in Ridgefield, Connecticut. We saw Byron preparing a beautiful 1932 Deluxe Eight 903 Phaeton for the show and it was a sight to behold. It was a great treat for a visitor who was able to see such beautiful examples of historical automobiles. So, it was with total shock and horror that we saw the news of the Russian invasion of Crimea in Southern Ukraine. We sincerely hope that this terrible situation will be resolved and that Putin's thugs leave George's homeland forever and in peace. Wishing Ukrainians all the best in these difficult times.

Three other things that drive me nuts:

1) "irregardless" instead of the correct "regardless"

2) "between you and I" instead of the correct "between you and me"

3) I feel "badly" (improper adverb) instead of I feel "bad" (proper use of adjective)

I feel better already!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our Packard owners and friends!

What is everyone doing today? I am going over to my mother-in-law's (she is a very good mother-In-law!) house for dinner. She is close by so no travel worries. Tomorrow I will be stopping by the Packard restoration shop of Byron York in Ridgefield CT to see what interesting projects he is working on. He always has some amazing cars in the shop so it is a real treat.

One other suggestion if you have more time - the Haynes International Motor Museum in Sparkford near Yeovil in Somerset (southwestern England). They have a lot of incredible cars. They a look at their website.

Blizzard, etc.

How is our Packard community dealing with the weather across the country? Here in Connecticut we are being socked with a record level blizzard - blowing and blinding snow, accumulations of about 2 feet, airports closed, major highways closed, etc. The wind is howling outside and the plan is to make some good warm coffee and stay put!
