Randy,
Thanks for posting this video a while back. A good friend of mine who is a professional video/filmmaker offered to put it together after seeing my Packard's. I'm really glad I made it and proud of how it turned out. Sorry for my prolonged absence from the community but some significant life changes caused me to hit the pause button. Seemingly all good now and wanted to drop in and say hello to Randy and others who are the backbone of these wonderful cars. Still have my Caribbean and drove it to Athens from Atlanta (130 miles round trip) to see my Mom for Mother's Day. Ran like top with good oil pressure and water temperature the entire trip. Lots of folks making me nervous driving with one hand and taking video of my car with the other! All the best, Robert.

Does anyone offer a similar conversion kit for a 39 12?
Thanks.

HH56 thanks for your reply. I will take your advice and check some convertibles but I suspect all TL systems were wound the same which should distribute the weight evenly.
My TL system has worked perfectly for years and not until I used the J-tool to lock the torsion bars in the frame to work on the front end have I now encountered this issue. Thanks.

TL question

My main torsion bars seem to remain "under load."
The compensator bar lever does not come back to near vertical toward the center of the car which would be the neutral or no load position. I put close to 100 miles on my car this weekend with plenty of braking and accelerating and my compensator bar lever remains facing outward towards the frame rail. I can manually move the rear of the car by jumping the compensator motor up or down to make the car appear level but if I get under the car the comp bar lever points outward. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Victor,
Before I sandblasted, repainted and rebuilt my front suspension, I doubt I could have found them either. Lots of dirt accumulates in the lower suspension. Below is a picture of mine so you can see the area where the rings are located. Regards, Robert.

Damn impressive restoration. Nice to see a 180 formal sedan brought back to life and turning out so well when completed. Thanks for posting all the pictures.
Regards, Robert.

Yes I did since I had the entire front clip off of my car at the time. I ordered them all SS and if memory serves it was a few hundred bucks. Everything fit first time and for what it would have cost me in tools, time, materials, trial and error, I felt if was well worth it.
This was back in 2006 so it would be best to give them a call a request a quote.
