Leaking Twin Ultramatic
Home away from home
Home away from home

Rocky46
My clipper 1956 is leaking trans fluid (while driving and just after having been driven), between the converter housing and the transmission, but seemingly only after having been driven for more than approx. 3-4 miles.
Otherwise I can not detect any leaks. The trans fluid level is correct.
Has anybody a suggestion for what`s most probable
causing the leak?

Thanks in advance.

My remark was ment as a sincere thank for the effort made by you to look into the BTV problem, making it safer, as I want to continue using my BTV.

I hope I can avoid going to the next UFO`s Anonymous meeting.

I do not remember Mat ever posting the exact reason for his accident. I don't catch everything however, and if he did post the reason I would like to know the post so that I may read it for myself.

I would also like to know the reason, as I just have discovered (sic) that my newly bought Clipper 56 has a BTV and it most probable needs to be overhauled.

Seeing your mileage, I think the engine is due for an ignition and carb tune up. Since I wrote the message, I have discovered that 4 or 5 of the spark plugs were "finger tip" tightened i.e. very loose.
As I only have had 3 tankfulls since I bought the car,
the basis for the mileage might be shortcoming. In addition the engine has been idling for some time (when people admiring the car).
