Here are some pictures of the heat shield and mounting bracket for a 22nd - 23rd Series Custom 8. The 21st Series should be similar except does not need the U shaped cutout on the back which is for the vacuum line to the wipers.

Dave,

It looks like you have the 1951-54 version. If you look closely at the illustration in the 1941-47 Clipper parts book you will see that the correct shield extends down a lot farther on the back side. The shield for 22nd - 23rd Series Custom 8's should be similar to the one for your car and that one does not have the slot as shown on the one you have as well as Kevins but rather uses 2 holes for the angle bracket that attaches to the rear fuel pump mounting bolt. I could send a picture later if you like.

Two more things that I have noticed regarding STB's is that the link for 51T-49 actually brings up a duplicate copy of 51T-24 instead and also that I can't get the link to work for 53T-22.

There should be a metal spacer between the mirror and the belt moulding that fits between the ribs on the moulding. Thickness is 1/16 inch, width 5/16 inch and length 4-1/8 inch with the ends slightly rounded to match the base of the mirror. Diameter of the holes is about 3/16 inch with spacing to match the mirror base.

The Delco 1946K shock was used for the left front on 1942-47 Clippers and all 1948-50 models. I'm surprised that Apple Hydraulics doesn't list them.

I have a few Trico catalogs. The 1946 edition shows number U-778 11" long for 1941 models with electric wipers but these are for saddle type arms which are different than the ones in your picture.The 1953 edition still shows the U-778 as well as TAU-11. the TAU-11 is a universal 11 inch replacement blade that will fit 4 different arm types including the ones that you have. The Anco blades that you bought have the same universal mounting setup as the Trico but it looks like they are 12 inch which may be too long for your windshield. The TAU-11 blades have a wide range of applications and should be quite easy to find.

The one you want is Part # PA436058 which was used for 1951 to 1953 models. There is one presently listed on eBay.
