Wow, thanks for that news Michael. Will you be making any of the parts I need for my 1950? I've noticed that there are lots of 1948-50 Packards being restored presently so there is definitely a market for these parts. Thank you for your assistance with bringing these beautiful cars back to their former glory.

Hey thanks Guys I will look into all these sources. My Packard is a bit rusty in the rear section, but I want to save her. She's survived 58 years in good running shape, I will bring her body back to pristine condition. After all, she's a Packard.

Can anyone recommend a good place to get good sheetmetal for my 50 Packard. I need rear fenders, panel between the rear fenders, and a trunk floor. The floors and rockers are available on Ebay, but the other parts are not. I guess my Packard spent a few years up north. The frame is solid. Any help is great appreciated.

All these grilles are chromed pot metal. The 52 and 53 model years did not have nickel plating due to the Korean War effort and often pitted very early. These grilles often need restoration of the pot metal and triple chrome plating to make them show quality. About $1000 in today's money for a job well done. Regards

Kanter has reconditioned gas tanks, but they will cost you more than a 5-karat diamond ring. Sometimes there is no cheap way out of a Packard restoration. I'm learning that rather quickly. Your Packard is worth it.

The short answer to the question is "no". There were some sixes made after 1947, but mainly for the export and taxi cab trade.

Hey thanks a lot. I just printed it out and will read it carefully. I'm a bit of an artistic type so I may give it a try. I'm buying a spare dash from a fellow who is parting out a 1949 23rd series sedan. Hey thanks again.

Wood graining

Hello Fellows. I just bought a 1950 Packard standard 8 touring sedan which is in good running shape. The first non-mechanical project I would like to tackle is restoring the dash. I would like to redo the chrome and get new woodgraining applied. Does anyone know where I can get woodgraining done where I don't have to give the wood grainer my first born child or my soul. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Some of the prices I've seen online are ridiculous.

Though the Fairfield Mint is not a manufacturer of these die-cast cars, they do offer them in exclusive colors that are only available through them. I've purchased several models from them.
