Has anyone here experimented with adapting one of those 7" single diaphragm brake boosters to a prewar Packard? If so what are the pros and cons.

Were you thinking of using the underfloor universal pedal and booster/cylinder setup as used in streetrods? If there is enough clear space and height, that might be a viable option since you may be able to match the existing pedals. The performance should be pretty decent using a complete engineered assy with the pedal ratio already configured.

There is an interesting product from ECI which claims a considerable boost using strictly mechanical means. No vacuum, hydraulic or electric assist.ecihotrodbrakes.com/universal_brake_assist.html Maybe worth an inquiry to see if something like that would work or could be adapted to the existing.

I remember a friend had one on his 160 clupe coupe. It had way too much stopping power and put you through the windshield. The original brakes are best and you don't need the power booster. We took it off.
