The article -> linked here about a well-equipped 1940 Packard 120 contains the following quotes:
"Rear-only turn signal lights were a unique option in 1940." "Turn signals, in the rear only, were an extra cost option for the first time in 1940, but very few cars were so equipped." The images below show so-called signacators, manufactured at K-D Lamps Co. in Cincinnati, later marketed as -> "sho-turn" lamps, -> once offered at ebay Canada. Did Packard actually offer such equipment? images sources #1 - mycompanies.fandom.com #2, 3, 4 - sportscardigest.com Click to enlarge! Attach file: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Dave (flackmaster), I didn't find the reference to a prototype in the linked text until I read it a second time. Thanks, I learned something new.

Interesting to have a prototype feature along with being a 120 with factory air when it also has the later bumpers and trunk emblem. I would have expected it to be a very early model. In any event, it is gorgeous and what I pleasure it sounds to have had the pleasure of driving it.

Same here and the front fender lights were also already wired with dual element bulbs and wiring back to the junction strip on the inner fender splasher.

On mine the fronts were not wired and it was difficult to get the extra wiring in and look neat, But with enough perseverance it was done.
