Can someone provide a diagram of the torquing sequence of the head bolts on a 1937 Packard Super Eight engine.

These diagrams, from an old Motors Manual, show a sequence generally starting from the middle and working out to the ends for other Packard engines of that era. Probably the same, or similar for your '37 Super Eight. Note the paragraph to the right of the lowest cylinder head depicted. To this you'd be best served by tightening again after intially firing up and running the engine, then again after some few heat cycles and miles, then again after say 500 miles(others comments are welcome) then check yearly.

I would also check it at least once a year. Usually before a Caravan ( Rally). Peter T
