Carburetor Question

My 1939 Six has a Chandler Groves carburetor and I am somewhere between looking to rebuild (or have it rebuilt -- some issues finding a kit) and considering getting the Carter WA-1 359 Carburetor that appear to be the standard model. I thought I read that this was a change do to issues with the CG but apart from that debate, the real question I have is perhaps most reflective of my ignorance-- I see numerous Carter WA-1 carburetors but different numbers related to I assume the primary make it went to or maybe a year of production. Are other WA-1 carburetors compatible and how do I know which are or are not? Thanks in advance from a novice.

377s is the correct 37-39 WA-1
359s, if i recall, is the "generic replacement" WA-1

The CG was initially installed on the 37 6's, but it seems promptly replaced by the Carter if I read the service letters between the lines. I would encourage you to source a 377s, should be reasonably easy to find...

It had been awhile since I started deconstructing my rough Six which was an April '39 delivery (my survivor driver is later 39 build going by the numbers), so I decided to go look at the carburetor on it and both of mine have/had the Chandler Groves so my guess is they were still cycling through those or sporadically putting them in at least.

I have NOS Stromberg BX0V25 (I've seen V26 listed as the model for 1940) and was wondering about it as an option but that model doesn't have any connection for the manifold venting (maybe not a big deal but what do I know).

If anyone knows a good source for the Carter let me know as I am finding a ton of options for other versions.
