After 2 months of wanting to torque the head on my 1201, (seemed like everyday another project has come up) I tore it down today to torque the head. I discovered the freeze plug at the right front of the engine was leaking. I have ordered new parts and should have them in a week. Its always something. The plugs were replaced over 5 years ago when the engine was rebuilt.

I know folks have had good results using brass welch plugs. Perhaps those I used were poorly made or inappropriate alloy but I've had decidedly poor results with brass and have gone back to steel.

Nice work as always, Andy.
Maybe it's just the lighting, shouldn't the manifold nuts be brass?
