Carb identification

I’m looking to rebuild the carburetor, but it does not have a tag. It is a Rochester 4 jet. Is there some way to better identify it. One shop suggests it is part of a dual carb setup? Would this be possible?

From most of what I read my car should have a Carter, so I will assume the Rochester is not original

Thanks for your feedback

I can't tell you the carb number, but I can narrow it down a bit.

The fuel bowl sight plugs were eliminated from the Rochester 4GC for 1956. The choke coil covers on the dual 4-bbl. 4GCs were cast metal (rather than Bakelite) and included a threaded fitting for the heat tube. Since this carb has the threaded fitting on the choke housing, it is intended for use with a single 4-bbl. setup.

The Exec used a Carter WCFB 4-bbl.

Thanks for the info BH.
I did find manage to find a number on the carb when cleaning it up.
Going to rebuild this carb for now, and will add the proper Carter carburetor to my list of parts I’m searching for

Unless there is an aluminum tag with the specific number, what you found might be the casting number as used by many makes and models. That means that the jets and other internal parts must be measured to determine if they are proper for your car.

BH-I found them and have printed them off. Thanks for making them available to all of us on this site

PackardDon-I hope not. Talking to the carb kit supplier they said what I found was the last 4 numbers to the model stamped on the air horn
Again, here’s hoping

Thanks guys
