My wife picked up her own Packard today. she picked up a 5582-7784.

This time we crawled all under it and kicked it hard, dropped a battery in and checked out all the functions.

I will be going back up to Detroit and bringing her home this week.

Momma may be on the road before my 56. I think she is naming her Norma Jean.

Momma's got a car huh?

I should have thought of that.
Momma's got a nice Radial Miter saw in my shop so I could build those shelves she wanted.
Momma's also got a sweet Lincoln Welder in my shop so I could fix a wrought iron trellis for her.
I could go on with the stuff we bought for my wife for me to use but I never thought of a Packard.

I just realized while typing this that she calls my 400 "Daddy's car".

Nice ride by the way, I'm just messing you.

Our little airplane is actually my wife's, been in her family since the '60's. I tell everyone that I married her for the airplane.

Really, the car is hers too, since it is her family's. My job is just to fix the toys and then she lets me play with them.

Hopefully your wife will let you play with her toy while you work to get yours put back together!

Thanx for the Love, I mean Jeers Hahahahaha.

Of course Daddy is gonna play with it, but I let her decided if we were going to get it and then I told her it is hers. I said if we are going to dive to drive in and shows, you need your own ride, then she got excited.

I did have to tell her yesterday that I need to seek counseling as I have a problem. She ask what is that, and I said I am a Packardholic and I have OCPD Obsessive Compulsive Packard Disorder. Her response was I know.

Then I dropped the bomb, Next will be a 54 Pat, then a 53, 52.... and I got the look.

Goal is to have her home and Engine started by the weekend.

Nice one to start with!

The interior is exactly the same color and material as my 55 Pat. That always gets lots of wows from on lookers, especially the ladies who love the mohair and silver-threaded fabric.

Good luck on getting it started without problems. Based on my experience, watch out for the oil pump (low pressure) and BTV (various failure modes). There are fixes for both that have been discussed many times on this board. But, you probably know this already, having OCPD.

On edit: I just noticed the chrome air cleaner and valve covers (like mine). Those should clean and polish nicely and will also wow the guys when you open the hood.
