In addition to the startup of many cruise nights, May is a big month for major car shows in northern NJ; 2 weeks ago was the 62nd annual AACA NJ Region show in Florham Park at an industrial site formerly owned by Dutch Darrin's brother - always a Darrin or two present. This weekend my local car club (Restored Rusty Relics) has their big show at Upper Saddle River, NJ. The weather looks good so we can expect perhaps 450 cars (25 years old and older, only) and perhaps 90 flea market vendors, the majority of which are parts vendors. Aerial photo from our show last year below. The weekend after that is another nice show at Franklin Lakes NJ.

As usual ACOlds and I were out and about even though the weather is stifling. A lot of folks went to the Penguins/Bruins game rather than enjoy the local cruise scene.
Al and I enjoyed walking around and saw a 34? Chrysler we hadn't seen before. Beautiful paint and pinstriping. Sorry I didn't get a pic. As the evening was drawing to a close and we were getting ready to fold our chairs and head for home, a grandfather, father, daughter stopped by and started asking questions. Al and I gladly supplied answers which prompted more inquiries. Then they surprised us by wondering why we were so friendly when other car folks would barely speak to them and wouldn't answer any questions. A car nut who wouldn't talk about his car?? Who ever heard of such a thing? Usually you can't shut us up! Anyway we spent about a half hour explaining why we like Packards and the various features of both cars. An enjoyable half hour!

The Chrysler looks like it has been Resto-Rodded. The wheels and tires are the first clue. What else was done to it? Thanks.

The local Saturday cruise.
ACOlds Clipper and a 1934 Chrysler (it has a V8, but they kept original engine). A Morgan although it has a much more modern powerplant. 53? Pontiac - nice restoration. Friend Ron's 1950 Olds with the plexi-glass hood.

Randy
The Morgan Trike is a new one. They started making them again last year. Charles Morgan, Peter's son, and the grandson of the founder, HFS, has been running things for about 10 years and is having a lot of fun. The product line is has many more models in it now Regards John Harley
