1. My personal preference is hydraulic oil such as Mobil DTE-24 or the higher viscosity DTE-25. Hydraulic jack oil is an acceptable substitute, and some have found motorcycle fork oil to perform OK.
2. No kits. Best-in-business rebuilders are Apple Hydraulics on the East cost and Five-Points on the West coast. With the shocks removed it's a great time to service as needed the rest of the suspension, especially the upper and lower outer control arm bushings and king pins. Lower inner control arm bushings seem to last pretty much forever but should be examined as well. While you're at it, tie rod ends, etc. All these suspension parts are available.

Thanks for answering.
I will contact Apple hydraulics, checked their website, looks good. Regarding oil, I was thinking ATF fluid??? I have already replaced all the things You advised. I am doing a frame off, full overhaul to as new condition.

I wouldn't! Why for the sake of $10 would you use something other than a correct fluid? Any decent auto parts store will stock hydraulic jack oil and any good industrial supply house will stock hydraulic oil, take your choice.

I am not going to.
According to Apple hydraulics website they fill the restored items with the correct fluid.

Agreed on warning to not use ATF.
I used hydraulic jack oil until being told that motorcycle damper (shock) oil is designed to withstand the fast agitation with little foaming. I understand that hydraulic jack oil may not have that feature. My experience with Five Points was great; no problems after few years thus far. Pat
