Good morning and much appreciation to our fallen hero’s today !!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I found a vacuum control for my 49’ , (vc2060n) . I’m curious to see if there’s something I can spray down the diaphragm so it can re-soften the rubber so it don’t crack during use. Maybe wd40 or something of the such .

As much as I like Gummi Pflege Stift, I’m not sure it would help in this case as it should be rubbed into the surface and on both sides. I don’t suppose it would hurt anything either to try it but probably a waste of time.

I doubt if anything would help the diaphragm if it is dried and stiff. A VERY small amount of brake fluid on the atmospheric side might soften it a little. You don't want any brake fluid in your engine intake.

To be sure, you can get it rebuilt. Jason from Advanced Electrical Rebuilders, jason@aerrebuild.com, did mine for my 53. Very happy with the service and workmanship.

The URL posted is invalid and as far a I can see is that they do not have a Web site. Instead, as more and more places are going, they have a Facebook page.

Oh yeah, I updated my post to include his email address instead. It wasn't super quick, but very nice workmanship.

If the domain name is gone (as it appears to be), I expect the email won't work either so it might be necessary to use Facebook's Messenger to contact him.
