Which would be the correct hose clamps for a '47 clipper?

I got serious about having authentic hose clamps for my Packard Series 23. I found an unrestored parts car and took off all clamps I could find, cleaned them up, and put them on my Packard. Although my car is slightly newer, the Series 23 hose clamps look very close to the one shown on the left of your photo. The one on the right is a modern hose clamp and is not even close. I think vintage hose clamps are an important detail on a show car and modern ones are obvious points off to the judges.

I guess it all depends on just how authentic you want to be. And no reason not to believe that auto manufacturers might have made slight changes in styles during a vehicle run. There are plenty of vendors who sell new OEM-style hose clamps and even some (see Hemmings) who claim to be able to provide a kit of exact OEM matches though I have no experience with them.

I have to agree here that the God's really do live in the details, hose clamps matter. it's one of those things that fairly jump out when they're incorrect, and the one on the right is clearly all wrong.
I'd recommend you take the time to hunt thru Hemming's for new ones(Is there anyone here who doesn't have a life time subscription?), and not go the used route, the metal can fatigue over time, causing failure.

Try Ken Johnson (550 Industrial Drive, Carmel, Indiana 46302, 317-544-8154) for NOS and restored vintage hose clamps. He is knowledgeable and can tell you the correct type clamp(s) for the year and model of your vehicle.
