I have seen these pop up from time to time on ebay and at train meets. It was done when those cars were new, so the model is older than 50 years. The die casting holds up well. I haven't seen any with zinc pest symptoms.

Since this topic is between 4 and 6 years old, I may be too late with this. My father was a Packard dealer and I grew up playing with (and destroying) several of these 1948 convertible promos. I now own five of them (Got one and couldn't stop. They were made by Master Caster, a Chicago company that specialized in automotive promos. It is very rare to find one that still has its windshield.

Here is a picture of the five I've found and bought so far. I don't know how many colors there were, but I have seen black and chromium-plated ones...so I know there are some out there that I haven't found yet.

Notice that one of mine has a windshield, but it was fabbed by the guy I bought it from and is not original.

OK, I know this topic is old but I have some new information. I now have eight of these little models in the following colors: maroon, chrome-plated, gray, green, tan, blue, yellow, and black. I'm posting a photo with this post. If anyone knows of any other colors that were offered I would be glad to know about them. I think (and my wife doubts) that I now have a complete set.
