I'm thinking that the rear transmission seal is leaking. To better help you, if you can supply a picture of the leaking area others will advise on the best action. However changing the seal is a pretty easy matter. The service manual for the 1951 to 1954 cars is available on this web site and is easily downloaded or used as an in place reference to read. Hope this helps.

How do you stop transmission fluid leaking from around the "band adjuster nut" on the right side of a push-button ultramatic? Is there a seal or does someone have an exploded view of the right side of the transmission that shows a part number? HELP !

There is an o-ring on the adjuster. Remove the adjuster screw, remove the pan and valve body, and push the adjuster out. Replace the o-ring. Reassemble and adjust the band as per the shop manual.
