'53 Cowl Weatherstrip

The cowl to hood weatherstrip was missing on my Clipper when I purchased it so I forked over the bucks for a new one and received it yesterday. The weatherstrip is molded with tits that fit into the holes on the cowl but I was wondering if the original also required adhesive to help hold it in place when these cars were new. Thanks for you input.

I have a 1953 Clipper too, I just looked at my weather strip and am not able to move any part of it. I can't tell if it's glued down too or just stuck in place. It's not the original one, but if I was going to replace it I would put adhesive on it. Hope this helps.

When I removed mine there was no adhesive underneath it. Just the little "tits" that just through into the holes in the cowl.
