I thought Kanter was considering re-popping these. Dont know if that ever happened, but 51-56 tanks are all the same.
Find a place the does the Gas Tank-Renu process. It will probably cost you about $300. But it has a lifetime guarantee and they bake on a coating internally and externally that will out last you and the car. I had the same issues with my tank, and this was the best solution.

Last I heard, a few months ago, the repro 51-56 gas tank project at Kanters was nearly complete. I'd suggest you give them a call and see what the status is.
