Thanks for the tip. I'll wait some more.....I need to make a big transmission decision soon. Install 518, 727 (Chryslers) or freighting an Ultra to Peter for rebuilding.

Kev, wouldn't southern California be a closer shot. You could haul it over there yourself OR at least it would be less to ship it there. HH56 (Howard) has mentioned a rebuild shop there that several PI people use.

Custom Auto Service 302 French Street Santa Ana, CA (714)-543-2980 They have extensive experience with Ultramatics and Packards in general.

Yes, Custom Auto Service is basically the PI preferred "go to" Packard Service location in the Southern Calif. They not only do repairs, but also do full restorations.
