Very interesting idea to increase the artistic effect by using a Soviet sidecar motorcycle. A Packard, a lion and a Russian bike - that must be a metaphor.

The sidecar outfit to the back side of the Packard is a fairly modern (1970 or later) Russian made Ural. Not sure but i believe the sidecar out fit near the front of the packard is either a British Panther or a maybe a Vellocette ca 1937-1948. Note the LEFT hung hack.

At one time, Lyon (no "s" by the way) was one of three collectors to own both a real LeBaron phaeton and a real LeBaron boattail roadster. There are only four of each known to exist. I don't think he still owns the phaeton, though. Does anyone know where that went (former Harrah car, gray in color)? Or perhaps BigKev can verify that he saw it on the Lyon premises.????

I should have taken more pictures, but the shear number of multi-million dollar cars in the room was almost overwhelming. I think he had something like 10+ dusseys.
Here is a shot down the "Packard" side of the house. All the cars on the left are Packard down to the far wall (out of frame). Both Jim and Flack will be able to tell you what cars are what as I am Pre-War dumb.

I know one of the cars was formerly used as a Parade Car by the President of Mexico and had a thick glass surround that could be lowered or raised up from the sides, back and dual cowl (like a divider window) to protect the back seat occupants from a street level attack on all sides.

Thanks, Kev
He may have sold the LeBaron dual-cowl to Bob Lee, which may be where all those Lions came from. Lyon sold Lee the blue boattail, and then recently bought it back. If Lee does have the dual-cowl phaeton, then he would be the third collector to have one-each of the real LeBaron boattails and phaetons, because he had two real boattails for a while. Let me modify my statement, then. Lyon is the ONLY person to have real versions of both boattails offered by Packard. He has the 734 Speedster (salmon colored car in your last photo) and the blue LeBaron Twelve.

I love that 1932 Super Eight Dietrich dual-cowl phaeton in the center of the last photo. I'll take that one. The 1935 Twelve convertible sedan, as nice as it is, seems like an odd duck in that collection. I wonder what the story is behind that one????
