Does anyone have any hints on installing new chrome gauge bezels on a 1956 dashboard?

If I had new ones, rather than staking them in place as they did at the factory, I think I'd probably epoxy them in place.

Ross, thanks. I do have new ones and I was thinking the same way as you. Any particular brand or type of adhesive you would recommend?

Has anyone used that new glue that's activated by UV light? IF it works as advertised, that would be better to work with than epoxy.

I checked the instructions on the UV cured stuff. No metal to metal.

Thats good to know. I was going to look into that stuff. In one of the commercials shown out here it sure looked like it was a steel cable they were gluing together to pull a truck.

The UV-curable materials are very commonly used in dental work, I actually got a small amount from my dentist to try a distributor rotor repair (successful so far).

Maybe it was the particular brand I was looking at the specs on. My wife is a dentist and she uses blue light not UV.

Joel, brain-lapse on my part. Yes, blue light of course! Looking forward to seeing you and the dentist at Traverse City! Unfortunately I'll probably be without one of my Packards, at 2000 miles or more RT that's more than I'm up for.
