Looks like it has possibilities. My guess is a 47 limo 2150.

Good catch Gerd. A 46 or 47----Another of those cars that one needs to get up close and personal with to determine it's year of birth.

Whatever it is, I propose you buy it, refurbish it, get a chauffeur's uniform made (double-breasted maroon with brass buttons and tall boots would look good) and start hiring yourself out for proms and weddings!

The vehicle # identifies it as a 1946.
Thanks Gusha, I did enlarge the pix and get the thief-proof number.

I would like to bring this website again into your focus. The last chapter contains interesting details to identify this car.
Yes, I've been there and read it, am I missing something that wasn't apparent to me? The car is a body type 1651 on chassis 2126 which means it's 1946. a 2151 on the same chassis would be a 1947, but really the two are just about as identical as two cars could be. It's really convenient that Packard chose 1947 to have the body type #s catch up with the series #, because that's really the only definitive way to tell a 1946 from a 1947.

I still don't grasp what you are asking. Is it to explain the difference between a 1650 and a 1651 versus a 2150 and 2151?

Difference is presence or absence of a division window. LWB 7 pass sedan has no divider window, the limo version does. In later years the model w/o the division window was called an Executive Sedan.

The 1651 in this picture (with the blanked rear windows) has been modified, perhaps by Henney, but that style was not (to my knowledge) a factory offering. In fact I think the only postwar factory offering of that style in a lwb car was in 1954, pictures of which are posted on this site. There is one just like that 1651 here in NJ, alleged to have been modified for the Governor of North Carolina, but no Henney tag and a so-so level of workmanship.
