Anyone know if the 57 Tbird ring is the same as ours? (The 57 Tbird sender is roughly a drop in replacement.)

Parts 426211 and 426212.

The ring looks much the same as my '53, but different seal. My '53 has an o-ring about 2 1/4" in diameter. Seems like you're on the right path.

Not sure if these are helpful or not.

This was the measurement for the seal.

I'm going to assume the lock ring works. It looks essentially the same as the replacement lock ring that comes with new senders. Are the new senders being sold now just '57 T-bird senders?

The o-ring on the new replacements is different than the one on RockAuto. The two I've installed were rubber and taller. Not sure how much of a difference that makes.

The senders fit a number of Fords and Mercurys of the era, not just 1957 Thunderbird but since that’s easier to remember, that’s how it’s described. I can’s say whether those being sold are 1957 Thunderbird or whether those being sold for 1957 Thunderbird were made for Packard but either way, it makes little difference.

I wonder if this would be the correct one overall.

That looks like the correct style seal.

Thanks Riki, after some further eBaying this looks good here... EDIT: actually maybe not, the proportions look a bit off. Hard to say.

I was surprised that it seemed like no one had a X-ref for this even though the original seals are surely shot in most of our tanks. Ended up getting just the seal from Joel Ray. MM has both but I think it's $25 for a ring and seal which is a bit much. As my old fuel tank sender is hanging on by a thread electrically I may need another one sometime.
