Trunk Seal Replacement

Has anyone found a generic seal that works well for the trunk? My '53 Cavalier's seal is soft, well softish, but doesn't have enough spring anymore to keep the trunk sealed.

I see that Steel has them. A bit pricey for us in Canada.

I was looking at this on Amazon. 3/4" x 3/4"

Thoughts?

I have the door weatherstripping in stock if you need. It basically goes all the way around the door except the top rear corner. I forget how much if any is used on the front of the door. $3.69/ft.

Most trunk weatherstripping is pretty generic in nature, and there is absolutely nothing Packard or model specifc about the kind Packard used. Find a supplier in country to save cash.

Just the trunk weatherstripping now. I already did the doors with Steele unfortunately. It worked but it's definitely pretty stiff. And expensive.

Restoration Specialties, will ship to Canada, but you need to call to place your order. New trunk seal on the way!

My goal is to get my Cavalier sealed up well enough that I don't have to seek shelter anytime I'm out driving and a dark cloud appears!

Making progress! I have found and fixed many sneaky little leaks! I think with my new trunk seal I'll be good to go!

I have an unexpected issue. When I repaired my trunk pan, floor pan and rear fenders, I hadn't considered that any water that does get in, doesn't have a place to get out! LOL Gotta seal things up!
