Either or both or all. My test car has push buttons so no clearance issues. Want to see any shift linkages dropping down anywhere between firewall & steering box so I can try and make sure all clears.

Not sure this will help much after all. IIRC The red arrow points to what was the mount for a cordon shaft of the linkage. LEVER T-ultra 56 Exec. Very original car.

Thanks. I think I have enough on the V8 to make a semi educated guess on areas to avoid. Will do another bracket tomorrow and see how it looks.

Not Flamingo. The car came to me as a very original and complete car but extremely rusty. I bought it from AlK that posts here from time to time.
I disassembled it. The car came to me as 2-tone blue with black/blue interior. The paint/trim code comfirms that.

HOWEVER, when i began disassembly the red/white 2 tone colors appeared thru out the ENTIRE car. There is no reason not to believe it was a factory repaint. Or at least no reason i can conjure. What u see of the firewall is greatly weathered. Note the "1834" VN evident in the pic.

I'll post the Paint/trim code tomorrow when it's daylite for verification.

I need another dimension if someone would be so kind. There is a hole on the lower edge of firewall below accelerator linkage on V8's.

Would someone with a linkage gearshift please tell me how much distance there is to any shift linkage going down that would be above the frame. On the picture Craig provided, it looks as if the linkage is either inline or just past it toward the engine--but it might be the angle on the picture because the one PV8 took from the other direction looks as if it is all to the left.

If an imaginary plumb bob were dropped from that hole, on which side would the linkage be and about how much distance would there be from the string to anything--particularly down in the brake booster and frame area.

I moved the booster over a tad, everything fits beautifully on the single 7 and even the dual 7 looks good with not as much tilt as before ---- on a pushbutton car with nothing there. With linkage, it may be a different story.

Ross, you will like our Flamingo thread. The Flamingo color code is O.

Now back to Howard's(HH56) request.

Thanks much for the pictures. One other question--The top end of the linkage appears to be directly over the hole in firewall so just need to know about how far the rod or bottom end is away from the torsion bar.
